The Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication has initiated the process to migrate around 130 government websites and 22 critical applications from the National Informatics Centre infrastructure to a new, high-capacity cloud environment. The move comes as the current hosting arrangement with the NIC-Goa Mini-Cloud approaches expiry.

The state government is seeking one among
26 Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)-empanelled Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to host approximately 130 government websites and 22 critical applications.

To prevent service disruptions, the government has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select a qualified vendor capable of managing a structured and time-bound migration. The selected vendor must complete the migration within 16 weeks without disrupting public services.

The new system is expected to operate on a ‘Hyperscaler’ platform capable of handling fluctuating user demand, ensuring 24×7 monitoring, and complying with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

The contract will be for three years, extendable up to five years. Officials expect Goa’s digital footprint to expand to over 200 websites and 50 applications in the coming years.
