They beat Sridora Caculo College 5-2 in men’s inter-collegiate final

Peddem: St Xavier’s College, Mapusa stamped their authority on the turf as they clinched the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Hockey Championship 2025-26 with a 5-2 victory over Sridora Caculo College in the final at the Hockey Turf, Dayanand Bandodkar Krida Sankool, Peddem.

Organised by Goa University, the four-day tournament saw nine teams battle it out.

In the final both sides traded early possession. However, St. Xavier’s superior finishing proved decisive.

Sridora Caculo College fought valiantly and managed to breach the defence twice, but St. Xavier’s attacking unit remained relentless, sealing the contest with a three-goal cushion by the final whistle.

In the semifinals, St Xavier’s edged past Government College, Pernem 2-1 while Sridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa, secured their final berth, thrashing Government College, Quepem 4-0.

St Xavier’s Sandesh Honakhande was adjudged the Best Player.

The final was graced by the presence of Santosh Patkar, Smriti Borkar, Tony Salema, Sam Braganza along with Balachandra Jadar.
