Panaji: Thirty-five Bangladeshi nationals found staying illegally in Goa have been traced and deported since January 2025. Among those deported are nine males, seven females and 19 minors.

On February 25, six Bangladeshi nationals were deported through coordinated action by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Goa, and the Border Security Force (BSF).

“In a continued drive to curb illegal immigration and ensure compliance with the country’s immigration laws, six Bangladeshi nationals found residing

in Goa without valid travel/immigration documents were deported on February 25 through coordinated action by the FRRO, Goa, and the BSF,” said a senior police officer.

Police said the deportation was carried out strictly as per laid-down procedures. “An escort team of FRRO Goa handed over the deportees to BSF, from where they were deported to Bangladesh by BSF,” the officer said.

Police said that since 2025, the Foreigners Branch of Goa Police has traced and facilitated the deportation of 35 illegal Bangladeshi nationals who were found staying in the state.

Goa Police reiterated that action against illegal stay and l entry is being pursued in coordination with FRRO and other agencies. Members of the public have been urged to verify the documents of tenants and workers and report suspicious cases to the nearest police station or the Foreigners Branch.
