The BCCI on Tuesday announced a cash reward of Rs 131 crore for the Indian men’s team and support staff following their triumphant campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The reward will be shared among the 15 players, coaching staff and other members of the support staff. Sources indicated that players are expected to receive the largest share, while the distribution among support personnel will be decided according to hierarchy.
The amount is Rs 6 crore higher than the Rs 125 crore awarded after India’s previous title triumph in 2024.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of Rs 131 crore for Team India following their triumphant campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Board congratulates the players, support staff and selectors once again on this historic achievement and wishes them continued success in the future,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said in a statement.
India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, clinched the title after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
By successfully defending the title, India became the first team in the tournament’s history to retain the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The win also made India the first side to claim the title three times and the first to win it on
home soil.
India also received the winner’s purse of $2.34 million (approximately Rs 21.5 crore) from the ICC, while runners-up New Zealand collected $1.17 million.
Samson finished as the Player of the Series with 321 runs in five innings, while Bumrah was named Player of the Match for his decisive spell in the final.
