Youssef nets a brace to complete their 3-0 win

Panaji: East Bengal FC stayed firmly in the hunt for the Indian Super League (ISL) title with a commanding 3-0 victory over Odisha FC at the Salt Lake Stadium on Tuesday.

East Bengal took the lead in the first half through Bipin Singh, who put the Red and Gold Brigade ahead with a crucial early strike. The goal set the tone for a dominant display as East Bengal maintained control through large phases of the game.

After the break, Youssef Ezzejjari took centre stage with a clinical second-half brace. The forward added two well-taken goals to extend East Bengal’s lead and seal all three points. With his double, Ezzejjari also moved to nine goals this season, the highest in the league so far.

Odisha FC struggled to break through East Bengal’s defensive structure and were unable to find a response as the hosts held firm to secure a clean sheet.

The result took East Bengal to fourth place in the standings with 18 points from nine matches, just two points behind leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant, who have played the same number of games.
