FC Bengaluru United registered a convincing 4-1 win over Sporting Clube de Goa in an I-League 2 fixture at the Padukone-Dravid CSE Arena 1 on Friday.

The hosts took control early, with Lijo K putting them ahead in the 23rd minute to ensure a 1-0 lead at half-time. Sporting Clube de Goa showed intent after the break, with Dattaraj Gaonkar going close in the 48th minute, but his effort went just wide.

Bengaluru doubled their advantage in the 64th minute through Akshunna Tyagi before further goals from Aenam Jurwah in the 82nd minute and Nikhil Kumar in the 90+1st minute put the result beyond doubt.

Sporting reduced the deficit in stoppage time when Joel scored in the 90+5th minute. Despite the defeat, Sporting remain in the upper half of the table with 10 points from seven matches. They will next face Sporting Club Bengaluru on May 15 at the Bambolim Stadium.
