Music enthusiasts are in for a treat as some of the country’s most talented and promising young classical musicians are set to perform at ‘Swaramangesh Returns’ on July 12. Organised by Swastik Cultural Association, Panaji, the Indian classical music festival will be held at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Auditorium, Kala Academy Goa.
‘Swaramangesh’, is an annual three-day festival, held in December. However, with a few invited artistes unable to make it for the 14th edition of the festival owing to airline issues, Swastik Cultural Association has organised this special one-day festival.
The morning session will begin at 9.30 a.m. with a vocal recital by Hindustani classical vocalist from Bengaluru Siddhartha Belmannu. He will be accompanied by Amar Mopkar on tabla and Dattaraj Surlakar on harmonium.
This will be followed by a vocal recital by Dhananjay Hegde of Mumbai. He will be accompanied by Dr.Uday Kulkarni on tabla and Dattaraj Mhalshi on harmonium.
The afternoon session at 3.30 p.m. will begin with a thumri recital by Ayesha Mukherjee from Kolkata. She will be accompanied by Rushikesh Phadke on tabla and Subhash Fatarpekar
on harmonium.
The festival will then present a unique santoor–shehnai jugalbandi featuring Bipul Kumar Ray and Lokesh Anand from Delhi, accompanied by Indranil Mallick of Kolkata on tabla.
The concluding performance will feature a vocal jugalbandi by Diwakar Kashyap and Prabhakar Kashyap. They will be accompanied by Ashis Sengupta on tabla, Malu Gaonkar on harmonium, and Waseem Khan on sarangi. The festival will be compered by Manasi Walve and Hasti Gajjar.
The festival is open to all music lovers, although a few seats
are reserved.
