Harmanpreet ahead of India-Pakistan clash in Asia Cup
New Delhi: India women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur feels the pressure surrounding an India-Pakistan clash is unmatched as the two sides prepare to face each other in the women’s Asia Cup on September 5.
India have been drawn alongside Pakistan in Group A and have dominated their archrivals in T20Is, winning 14 of their 17 meetings, including the last four.
“No doubt it’s a high-pressure game… the amount of pressure in an India vs Pakistan match, that kind of pressure you don’t feel anywhere else,” Harmanpreet said.
The captain said the team would focus on its process rather than the result.
“Results come later, but before that, every moment, whatever things we need to do, it’s better to focus on those rather than just putting pressure that you have to win the match,” she said.
India are the most successful team in the Asia Cup with seven titles and will enter the tournament confident after winning the 2025 ODI World Cup and the historic women’s Test at Lord’s.
