The Department of Management Studies at Agnel Institute of Technology and Design (AITD), Assagao, hosted ‘Converge 2.0’ to strengthen industry-academia ties. Supported by the Government of Goa, the Goa State Higher Education Council, and the Directorate of Higher Education, it focused on the theme ‘Skill-Up, Scale-Up, Succeed: Empowering the Workforce
of Tomorrow’.
As part of the event, a panel discussion on ‘Building Future-Ready Talent: Industry Expectations from MBA Graduates’ included industry leaders such as CEO of IL&FS Infra Asset Management Limited Neelesh Vernekar; area director of HR at IHCL – Goa Region Hemant Jaiswal; senior director of HR at ANDREW – an Amphenol Company Bosco Ravi Rebello, and head of sports operations and infra development at GMR Sports Vikash Kumar.
The discussion provided perspectives on the evolving demands of the corporate world. Vernekar
highlighted the need for risk orientation, research, and accountability, stating that businesses seek individuals who are problem solvers and innovators. Jaiswal emphasised the importance of attitude, passion, and soft skills. Rebello spoke about the growing role of emotional intelligence, active listening, and relationship-building in professional success. Kumar encouraged students to develop creativity, leadership, and teamwork. “The leaders of tomorrow will be those who think beyond conventional ideas, connect with people, and inspire teams to achieve shared goals,” he said.
