Around 26,000 beneficiaries of the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) have yet to link their Aadhaar numbers with their bank accounts, according to the Social Welfare Department. Many senior citizens have not completed this process due to outdated Aadhaar details. Social Welfare Department Director Ajit Panchwadkar stated that beneficiaries who fail to complete Aadhaar seeding by April 2025 will no longer be eligible for financial assistance under the
scheme.
“All beneficiaries who have not yet linked their Aadhaar numbers should visit their banks immediately and complete the process by providing a copy of their Aadhaar card,” he said.
To address the issue, officials are conducting a survey and raising awareness about the importance of Aadhaar
seeding.
