The Goa Police have initiated the process of securing an Interpol Blue Corner Notice against Surinder Kumar Khosla, a UK national who has been booked by the Anjuna police in connection with the inferno that engulfed the nightclub Birch by Romeo Lane on December 6 claiming 25 lives.

Earlier, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against the UK national.

Khosla is the owner of the property on which the unauthorised nightclub had been operating, the police said,  adding that   the move to secure the
Interpol Notice has been made to ascertain his whereabouts and to compel him to face the ongoing investigation.

He has been absconding since the time the blaze broke out. It is claimed that Khosla was in Goa when the incident took place. He is suspected to have fled to the UK following
the inferno.

Earlier, similar process was followed by the police against the co-owners of the establishment Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, who had fled to Phuket in Thailand after the
devastating fire.

The brothers were deported to India and arrested in Delhi. They   were later brought to Goa, and now are in police custody.

The police have so far arrested eight people – the Luthra brothers, Birch co-owner Ajay Gupta,
and five others.
