Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that the BJP government has resolved the long-pending Mayem evacuee property issue by granting Mayem residents ownership rights over their houses and traditional properties.

Addressing BJP workers at a Mayem constituency meet, Sawant said, “If anything remains to be sorted out regarding this issue, it will be done in the near
future.”

He urged villagers not to oppose development projects, saying these initiatives, including those focused on infrastructure and human resources, would generate employment for local youths and boost development in Mayem.

Expressing confidence ahead of the next assembly elections, Sawant said, “All three constituencies from Bicholim taluka will be of BJP’s in the 2027 elections.”

Earlier, BJP state president Damodar Naik inaugurated the workers’
meet in the presence of Bicholim MLA Chandrakant Shetye, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet, and other dignitaries.

Naik said that the party’s election preparations have already begun well in advance, nearly 20 months before the polls. He urged workers to strengthen the party’s network with voters, especially in rural areas, stating, “Workers are the backbone of the party.”
