Hobby showcase in Miramar

As part of International Museum Day celebrations, a three-day exhibition titled ‘My Own Collection’ was organised recently at the Goa Science Centre, to display hobby collections and promote community awareness regarding art, culture, and heritage preservation. A total of 28 hobby collectors
participated.

The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of associate professor, Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar,  Prajal Sakhardande as chief guest, and the director, Directorate of Museums, Government of Goa,
Vasu Usapkar.

The history lecture on the topic ‘History and Heritage of Goa from ancient times to
2019’ was delivered
by Sakhardande.

The event was honoured by Governor of Goa, Pushapti Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who visited the Goa Science Centre and personally toured the exhibition.

The event concluded with a valedictory function held on May 18 in the presence of Chief Minister of Goa,
Pramod Sawant, who was the chief guest. As a token of recognition and encouragement, certificates of appreciation and mementos were presented to all 28 participants by the
Chief Minister.
