Ami Goenche Rakhandar has announced the Goenche Rakhandar Recognition Awards 2026, a people’s initiative dedicated to honouring individuals, groups and movements who have stood for Goa’s land, environment, people, heritage and humanity. The initiative seeks to recognise Goa’s unsung heroes — environmental defenders, grassroots activists, lawyers, youth leaders, digital awareness creators, NGOs, people’s movements and martyrs who dedicated their lives for justice and the protection of Goa. A total of 100 recognitions will be presented under Individual, Group and Martyr/Legacy categories.
The Goenche Rakhandar Recognition Awards is a crowd-funded public initiative. Those interested can volunteer and support the event.
Citizens and organisations from across Goa will also be invited to nominate deserving individuals, groups and movements. The forms will be available shortly.
The awards ceremony will be held on June 14, 2026 on the occasion of World Blood Donors Day, at Big Bee Banquet Hall, Khandola.
