Verses in Konkani

A Poets Meet was held in the authors’ corner at NBT Goa Book Festival with the attendance of 13 poets across the Konkani belt. The focal theme of this session was ‘Goeam Tujya Moga Khatir’ (Oh Goa, for the Love of You!).

Poets wove into their poems the present day crises facing the environment, the mounting crime, corruption, vices and allied problems,   the changing   demography of the State and the consequent shift in social dynamics, blatant sale and conversion of land among others, the apathy of the powerful and the indifference of the general public.

Manoj Borkar,  Gaurish Vernekar, Rosario Pinto, Urgita Bhobe, Shobha Fulkar, Rupesh Dessai, Milind Bharne, Prasad Pagui, Krishna Signapurkar, Viraj Prabhudesai, Avinash Kunkolkar and Jyotiba Patil participated in poetry recitation session which was  chaired by Kiran Budkuley (Rashmi Rathi).

President of Konkani Lekhak Sangh Gaurish Vernekar and members, along with team of office bearers, Konkani reading public and literature lovers were also present on the ocassion.
