Benaulim: Candolim SC defeated SCC Cavelossim 2-0 in a GFA First Division League Group A clash at the Benaulim ground. Despite the loss, both teams finished on 18 points and qualified for the playoffs.

In a top-of-the-table encounter, Cavelossim coach Donald chose to rest senior players Melson and their experienced goalkeeper, instead handing a full 90-minute start to U-21 player Maclan Vaz. The decision backfired, as Maclan struggled on the left flank, allowing Candolim to consistently penetrate the Cavelossim defence.

Both teams failed to break the deadlock in the first half. However, Candolim took control in the second half, with Nikhil Naik making a decisive move down the left, dodging past Maclan before firing into the top corner to open the scoring in the 60th minute.

Aryan Solanke then sealed the victory in the 85th minute, extending Candolim’s lead.

Meanwhile, in another Group A match, Clube São Miguel de Taleigão registered a comfortable 3-0 win over A.A. de Moira.
