Candolim SC produced a clinical performance to register a resounding 4–0 victory over Nuvem SC in a GFA First Division League Group A match played at the Duler Stadium on Wednesday.

By virtue of this result, Candolim moved on to 14 points from six matches while Nuvem are yet to open their account.

Aryan Salunke was the standout performer for the Candolim outfit, striking twice in the first half to give his side a comfortable lead going into the break. Salunke opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a composed finish and doubled his tally just before half-time (45’), capitalizing on a defensive lapse by the Nuvem backline.

Candolim continued their dominance after the change of ends, with Pralhad Velip making it 3–0 in the 58th minute following a well-worked move. Velip, who was also booked in the same minute, remained a lively presence in midfield. The rout was completed in the 78th minute when Latesh Mandrekar added his name to the scoresheet, rounding off a commanding display.

The match saw five yellow cards being issued, with Candolim’s Macbon Fernandes (13’), Purthvi Chawan (44’), Aniket Naik (55’), and Velip (58’) going into the referee’s book. Darwin Colaco (69’) was the lone Nuvem player to be cautioned.

With this result, Candolim SC have strengthened their position in the group standings and will look to carry this momentum into their upcoming fixtures.
