People buy paraphernalia for setting up matolis, at the Panaji market on Monday. A matoli is a wooden canopy that is set up above the idol of Lord Ganesh, and is decorated with seasonal wildflowers, fruits, and leaves. Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations will begin on August 27 in the state.
