Chandan, Ishita claim double crowns

Ponda: Goa’s young talents, Chandan Caro and Ishita Colaso, stole the show at the 1st All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, hosted by Ponda Table Tennis Sports Club in association with the Goa Table Tennis Association at the Sports Complex, Ponda.

Chandan, last season’s national ranking gold medalist, proved unstoppable, sweeping Dhruva Kamat 3-0 in the Boys U15 final before overcoming top seed Aaron

Farias 3-1 to secure the Boys U19 title.

Ishita displayed similar dominance, easing past Aarna Lotlikar 3-0 in the Girls U-15 final and later edging Neeza Kamat 3-2 in the Girls U-19 decider to complete her double.

In other finals, Ishaan Colaso defeated Ashank Dalvi 3-0 to win the Boys U-11 title, while Anaya Shukla claimed the Girls U-11 crown with a 3-0 victory over Shaurya Dessai. Ruhaan Shaikh clinched the Boys U-13 title after a 3-0 win against Vedant Wagle, and Sachi Dessai beat Tisha Shaikh in straight sets to take the Girls U-13 honours.

The final was graced by the presence of Swapnil Asnodkar, Sudin Verekar, Christopher Menezes, Shaunak Borkar, Shivanand Sawant, Shantarm Kolvekar, Vishwanath Prabhu and Amogh Namshikar.
