Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said the BJP is committed to ensuring development, and prosperity of every citizen, particularly the underprivileged.

Sawant was speaking on the occasion of the foundation-stone laying ceremony of three houses for needy families in Harvale, Sankhali and Surla in the Sankhali constituency.

“It is our duty to help the last person in society through a humane approach. BJP workers in Sankhali have set an example by pooling resources to build pucca houses for three deserving families. This model should be replicated to bring neglected sections into the mainstream,” he said.

The initiative will benefit the families of Sushant Amonkar, Tulshidas Satokar, and Ramesh Malik, whose homes were in dilapidated condition. Sawant said the construction is likely to be completed in two months’ time.

He called on the public to help the needy as a social responsibility. “If everyone contributes, no one will remain without a roof over their head,” he said.

The foundation stones were laid in the presence of local leaders.
