Bicholim/Sankhali: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to take the state and central government schemes to every household and work towards the party’s resolution of ensuring prosperity for every family.

Speaking at the announcement of the BJP Sankhali mandal committee, Sawant said there is need for party workers to reach out to the people and continue efforts to recruit new members.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is progressing towards becoming a global superpower, and workers should strive to make the constituency more capable and ideal,” he said.

The new committee includes Rama Naik as president, Nandini Gavas, Chandrakant Ghadi, and Manohar Walvalikar as vice presidents, Kalidas Gavas and Guruprasad Naik as general secretaries, Manda Gawade, Isha Mapari, and Sundar Naik as secretaries, and Shrirang Sawal as treasurer. The committee also comprises members Surekha Khodgingar, Sakshi Priolkar, Salia Gavas, Hema Petkar, Suvidha Pednekar, Rudresh Kamat, Sunil Morajkar, Sunil Falkar, Krishna Gavas, Dashrath Malik, Hari Malik, Shantaram Verekar, Sameer Dhume, Pandurang Gavas, Rohidas Mandrekar, Dattaraj Gawade, Umesh Sarnaik, Shivnath Gavas, Agnelo D’Silva, Disha Mayekar, and Prachi Tari.

North Goa BJP district president Dayanand Karbotkar urged party workers to strengthen their organisational skills and begin preparations to secure a significant victory for the BJP in the 2027 polls.

Later in the day, Sawant, while addressing BJP workers in Bicholim, said that the taluka would be a BJP stronghold in the upcoming elections. “Party workers play a vital role in strengthening the organisation and the preparations must begin now,” he said, adding that he is confident that the party will secure 27 out of 40 seats in the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.

State BJP President Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik said that the party’s organisational work was well underway, with meetings held in three constituencies before this one. “Workers must dedicate themselves to strengthening the party structure,” he said.

Bicholim MLA Chandrakant Shetye pledged his support to the BJP, stating that Sawant had extended full cooperation for the development of Bicholim.
