Cumborda SC eased past Paldem SC 2-0 in the War of the Champions Cup 9-A-Side Interward Football Tournament on Thursday at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim.
Cumborda wasted no time in asserting their authority, taking the lead in the 10th minute. Mackson latched onto a powerful shot that beat Paldem’s goalkeeper to give the home side a 1-0 advantage. Despite Paldem’s efforts, including several off-target shots, they couldn’t find the back of the net, and the first half ended with Cumborda holding a slender lead.
The second half saw both teams come out with renewed energy, creating plenty of chances. However, it was Cumborda who struck again in the 45th minute. A brilliantly executed passing move saw a through ball find Blason, who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner to double Cumborda’s lead.
The match ended 2-0 in favor of Cumborda SC, with Mackson being awarded the Man of the Match for his early goal and all-around contribution.
