The Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Goa, in association with the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC) and the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), recently organised Octave at Ravindra Bhavan, Sanquelim. The three-day national-level folk festival showcased the rich heritage of India’s eight North Eastern states.

Around 300 artists from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura enthralled audiences with traditional performances, including Assam’s Bihu, Mizoram’s bamboo dance, and Meghalaya’s Wangala.

An initiative of the Ministry of Culture, the festival aimed to celebrate India’s diversity and promote unity.
