DCT’s S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics (Autonomous), Cujira, in collaboration with the BNI Foundation – Goa Chapter, recently organised a series of events to mark International Networking Week. The college’s Institution Innovation Council (IIC) held the sessions to give students real-world exposure to business networking and entrepreneurship.

The ‘Business Voices Business Summit’ saw BBA students and parents attend a live BNI Chapter meeting, interact with business leaders, and hear entrepreneurial success stories. A total of 59 students and six parents participated.

Director of Higher Education, Government of Goa, Bhushan Savaikar was the chief guest.

Guests of honour included director, BNI Foundation Sandip Shah and college principal professor Manoj S. Kamat. Executive Director, BNI Goa Region, Rajkumar Kamat, was also present.

B.Com. and MTTM students attended a session titled ‘Entrepreneur’s Journey and Experience Sharing in Scuba Diving’,  by Commander Skandan Warrier, Director and Promoter of Scuba Evolution India Private Limited and a PADI Master Scuba Diver and Technical Diver. He spoke about different aspects of recreational and technical diving, including common risks, safety measures, and his own experiences in the field.

In another session, entrepreneurs Asha Arondekar (Founder of Global to Local and Chairperson of the Women’s Wing – GCCI), Rohini Gonsalves (Founder of Sevarat Healthcare and Nursing), Ryan Vaz (Founder of Infinyt3D and Audry Infra), and Stedwick Fernandes

(Head of the Office, engageHR) shared their startup journeys, challenges faced, setbacks, and lessons learned. The session encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship as a career path.
