Livan Clement’s lone goal secures them a 1-0 win over Ambelim Sports Club

Chinchinim: Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club Paroda lifted the 1st Cipriano Silva Memorial Cup after edging past Ambelim Sports Club 1-0 at the Chinchinim Church ground on Saturday.

The decisive moment came courtesy of Livan Clement, whose second-half strike proved enough to seal the title for Paroda.

Paroda dominated the opening half, relentlessly pressing forward and carving out several chances, but Ambelim’s resolute backline kept them at bay as the teams went into the break deadlocked at 0-0.

The breakthrough arrived in the 40th minute. Selton Fernandes’ curling corner was initially cleared by Ambelim’s Floyd Furtado, but only as far as Bradley Carvalho, who directed a header goalwards. Ambelim goalkeeper Ozen Silva produced a stunning save, but the rebound fell kindly to Livan inside the box, and he made no mistake with a powerful half-volley into the net.

Despite a late push from Ambelim in search of an equalizer, Paroda’s defense held firm to preserve their slender advantage and claim a deserved 1-0 victory, crowning them champions of the first-ever Cipriano Silva Memorial Cup.

Paroda’s Livan Clement was named the Man of the match for his decisive goal while Bradley Carvalho took  away the Best Forward award.

Despite the defeat, Ambelim’s Desmond Fernandes was awarded the Best Defender, while Ozen Silva received the Best Goalkeeper award for his fine saves that kept the scoreline narrow.
