Taleigao: Government College Khandola and Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s (DM’s) College, Assagao, secured wins in the Inter Collegiate Women’s Cricket Championship, at Taleigao.
In the opening match, GC Khandola dominated PG Goa University, posting 97/2 in 10 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat. Simran Naik led the charge with an unbeaten 52, while Dhanashree Kundaikar (1-16) was the pick of the bowlers for PG GU. Chasing 98, PG Goa University struggled, finishing at 58/7 in 10 overs, despite Viyana Naik’s fighting 20. Deevita Palkar (2-15) and Savi Gaude (1-11) delivered disciplined spells to seal a 39-run win for Khandola. In another game, DM’s College defeated St Xavier’s College by 10 runs.
