The crime branch has  arrested a 35-year-old Ghanaian  and seized drugs worth around Rs 15 lakh from his possession during a raid conducted on Friday night in Nagoa in
Bardez taluka.

The police said the  accused Sebastian Duah was found possessing a commercial quantity of MDMA – 60 tablets weighing
26.3 gm.

The raid was conducted based on specific information by a crime branch team led by police inspector Vikas Deykar.

The police said  the raid was carried out between 8.58 pm and  11.25 pm at Rauta Vaddo in Nagoa.

The Ghanaian has been residing in a rented room at Fuldem, Vaddo in Nagoa. He  was found to be in the possession of one transparent polythene packet containing in it  60 pink, brown and orange colour rectangular and triangular shape tablets suspected to be ecstasy tablets/MDMA weighing 26.3 gram and worth around Rs 15 lakh in international market.

The contraband was concealed in the dickey of the scooter, said the police, who  have also attached the  two-wheeler used by the accused.

An offence has been registered at the crime branch police station under Section 22 (c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Deykar is investigating the case under the supervision of deputy superintendent of police Rajesh Kumar and superintendent of police Rahul Gupta.
