The Goa triumphed in the 8th Junior National Dueball Championship after a 3-2 win over Tamil Nadu in the final at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The closely-contested final showcased the resilience and skill of both teams, but Goa emerged victorious, with Vice-Captain Shreyash Palkar netting two crucial goals to steer his side to glory. Palkar’s standout performances throughout the tournament earned him the coveted Player of the Tournament award.
Goa’s dominance was evident in the semi-finals, where they registered a resounding 9-0 victory over Pondicherry.
The team included Adarsh Sawant (C), Shreyash Palkar, Pratham Palni, Venkatesh Gaonkar, Ansh Gosavi, Anif Naik, Vineet Vengurlekar, Gaurang Naik, Rudraksh Tari, Prathamesh Naik, Harshad Palkar, Pushkaraj Kamat, Harsh Dhulapkar and Tukaram Patil. They were able to achieve this triumph under the guidance of Coach Pranay Tari and manager Sahil Naik.
