Utorda

Goa suffered a 2-6 defeat against Jharkhand in the Dream Sports Championship 2025 Girls’ National Finals. The match, played at the SAG ground in Utorda, saw Jharkhand race to a 4-2 lead by half-time, with their forwards showing clinical precision. Rashmi Minz broke the deadlock in the 14th minute, but Goa hit back through Neha Verlecar just five minutes later to level the scores.

However, Jharkhand quickly regained control. Skipper Alka Indwar restored their lead in the 33rd minute before Sanjna Oraon extended it to 3-1 six minutes later. Anamika Sanga added a fourth in first-half added time, ensuring Jharkhand went into the break firmly in command.

Shaulina Dang kept the momentum going after the restart, netting in the 48th minute to make it 5-2, before Sanga bagged her second goal of the match in the 67th minute to cap off a dominant display and leave the home side reeling.

Meanwhile, over at the SAG Benaulim ground, Assam brushed aside Karnataka 2-0 in the day’s opening fixture. Karina Narah gave Assam an early lead in the 8th minute, and Serbirika Terangpi doubled the advantage in the 35th to seal the result before half-time.

In the evening fixtures, Odisha edged past Rajasthan 1-0 thanks to a solitary strike from Kiran Deep in the 44th minute, while Kerala got the better of Delhi with a 2-0 victory. Meenakshi opened the scoring in the 41st minute, and Anjana Rajesh converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time to secure the points.
