10k-12k govt jobs in next 2 yrs, says Sawant

Panaji: On Sunday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the state government will create 10,000 to 12,000 new jobs in various government departments, including the Public Works Department, over the next two years.

He said that these vacancies will be filled through the Goa Public Service Commission and other channels, with nearly 4,000 of these positions being filled through the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation.

Sawant said that the government has introduced multiple skill-based courses for youth to enhance employment opportunities, besides skill development projects have been launched for students who have failed their Class X and XII board exams.

Speaking about the success of the apprenticeship scheme, he said that under it 14,000 youth have gained work experience.

Speaking at a BJP workers’ meeting in Taleigao, Sawant outlined ongoing efforts to provide job opportunities and empower the youth. He was joined by BJP state president Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik, Taleigao MLA Jennifer Monserrate, and former MLA Siddharth Kuncolienkar.

Monserrate, speaking on the occasion said that the overall development of Goa is taking place during the chief ministerial tenure of Sawant. She also added that Sawant should continue as the Chief Minister during the next tenure of the government.

It was informed that Rs 13 crores have been spent on hot-mixing of roads in Taleigao, and the proposed football ground as also other developmental works in the constituency would be completed soon, in the near future.

Damu completes 100 days as state BJP president

Panaji: The newly elected state Bharatiya Janata Party president, Damu Naik completed 100 days in office on Sunday.

A video on Naik performance was released at the hands of the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on the occasion.

Naik has started his work by aiming to corner 52 per cent votes at every booth, during the 2027 assembly election. He is also meeting the new and old party workers for the purpose.

The video also informs about various programmes organised by the state BJP unit in commemoration of the BJP Foundation Day.
