Ponda

The Aam Aadmi Party, on Saturday, formally launched its campaign for the Ponda bypoll.

Party candidate Geetesh Naik visited Nagesh Maharudra temple at Nagueshi and Shri Zareshwar temple at Khadpabandh and sought blessings of the deities.

Naik began his door-to-door campaign from his ancestral home in Khadpabandh after seeking blessings of Rakhandar Shri Vadeshwar located near
his residence, highlighting his connection with the people of
Ponda.

He was accompanied by AAP Goa State president Valmiki Naik, senior vice president Sandesh Teleikar-Dessai, Mahila Wing president Mamata Maben, and party workers and supporters.

Geetesh said his journey has been rooted in social service and staying connected with people. Referring to key issues in Ponda, he said that for over a decade, basic concerns have been neglected, including lack of facilities at the I D Hospital such as shortage of specialist doctors, beds, and the absence of a blood bank and critical care unit, along with problems related to garbage management, water supply, parking and traffic mismanagement.

He appealed to voters
to give him one opportunity, assuring visible improvements within eight months. He said that if he fails to bring positive change,
he will not contest elections again.

Valmiki Naik appealed to the people of Ponda to give the Aam Aadmi Party an opportunity after years of BJP and Congress rule and assured visible
change.

Sandesh Teleikar-Dessai questioned the ruling party over its failure to address key public issues, and said that if elected, Geetesh would work with commitment to resolve them before the next elections.
