The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court on Saturday remanded Bijay Kumar Singh to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the Arpora nightclub fire tragedy. After completing eight days of police custody, Singh was produced before the court, which ordered his judicial remand.

On December 9, a team of Anjuna police led by PSI Nitesh Shingadi, along with police constables Sapnil Shirodkar and Alex Pinto, had arrested Singh (38), a native of Jharkhand, and brought him back to Goa.

Singh, who was the operational manager of Birch by Romeo Lane, was the ninth person arrested in the case.

Meanwhile, the JMFC court, Mapusa, on Saturday remanded former Arpora–Nagoa panchayat secretary Raghuvir Bagkar to five days of police custody. He was arrested on Friday by Anjuna police in the same matter.

The Mapusa Sessions court on Saturday heard arguments on bail application of Gaurav Luthra in connection with Birch by Romeo Lane fire tragedy. The court will hear the argument on bail application of Saurav Luthra on Tuesday.
