Panaji: More than 6,200 farmers have benefited from the Promotion of Vegetable with Assured Market Scheme over the last five years, with total payments of Rs 27.83 crore disbursed and vegetable procurement more than doubling during the period, according to Goa State Horticultural Corporation Ltd (GSHCL).
Around 6,210 farmers benefited from the scheme between 2021-22 and 2025-26, said managing director Chandrahas Desai.
“The steady rise in the number of beneficiaries, procurement volumes and payments over the last five years highlights the growing reach of the Promotion of Vegetable with Assured Market Scheme,” Desai said.
“The programme continues to play an important role in providing market access to Goan vegetable growers while ensuring that farmers receive support through a reliable procurement system for their produce,” he said.
