The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) has been lauded for its consistent efforts in promoting tiatr-related activities, with Auxiliary Bishop of Goa and Daman Simiao Purificacao Fernandes, extending his support to the academy and its initiatives.

A delegation from TAG, led by its president Anthony Barbosa and accompanied by member Pedro Vaz and Fr Luis Gomes, met the Bishop on Wednesday at the Bishop’s House to formally invite him to the upcoming International Seminar on Tiatr, to be held at St Xavier’s College, Mapusa.

Bishop Fernandes appreciated the work undertaken by the academy. “The presence of Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes will be
a blessing for the event.
We are hopeful of receiving support from religious
leaders across Goa in promoting tiatr-related activities,” said Barbosa.

The International Seminar on Tiatr, themed ‘Echoes from the Past, Voices of Today’, will be held today, March 28, at the Seminar Hall of St Xavier’s College. The event aims to foster academic discussions, research, and critical appreciation of tiatr as a cultural and literary form while exploring its legacy and contemporary relevance.
