Margao

The Goa Saraswat Samaj will host the three-day Saraswat Food and Cultural Festival 2025 from February 7 to 9 at the SGPDA Ground, Fatorda, Margao.

This year’s event introduces a Saraswat Entrepreneurship Challenge for two age categories—up to 25 years and 26 years and above—to help young entrepreneurs refine their business ideas with expert guidance. The challenge includes a 10-minute presentation and a five-minute interactive session.

The festival also introduces exclusive competition categories for senior citizens, including fresh flower garland making, crochet, hand embroidery, singing, and cooking contests. Other competitions include wonders from waste, fancy dress, dance, face painting, painting, gift wrapping, and a healthy baby contest.

The festival will be inaugurated on February 7 at 6 pm by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, with Vasco MLA Krishna ‘Daji’ Salkar as the guest of honour and MMC councillor Sagun Naik as the special invitee.

Meritorious students will be felicitated on February 8 at 3.30 pm by chief guest Air Marshal Sandesh Wagle (PVSM, VM). The concluding ceremony on February 9 at 7 pm will feature Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai as the chief guest and Davorlim-Dicarpale sarpanch Saiesh Rajadhyax as the guest of honour.
