Panaji: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has identified 17 old and unsafe structures within its jurisdiction and asked Goa College of Engineering to conduct structural analysis of these structures.

“CCP has sent reminders to Goa College of Engineering in case of all the structures, seeking expert advice for necessary action with regard to these structures,” a CCP official said.

In case of the municipal building in Panaji market area, the Goa College of Engineering has submitted its report and recommended demolition of the building.

“CCP has sealed the building, and the area adjacent to the building has also been barricaded. Eviction notices have been issued to nearly 29 occupants of the building,” a CCP official said.

“We have identified 17 buildings and notices have been issued under section 272 of the City of Panaji Corporation Act, 2002, which speaks about removal of buildings in a dangerous state,” the official said.
