Financial assistance under the Dayanand Social Security Scheme and Griha Adhar Scheme will be released in a time-bound manner, and beneficiaries under these schemes will henceforth receive the money on the 10th day of every month, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Tuesday.

He also said that the pension amount disbursed under these schemes would be increased soon.

Sawant was speaking at the launch of the Time-Bound Release of Financial Assistance to beneficiaries under the Griha Aadhar and Dayanand Social Security Scheme at PAC Assembly Hall, Porvorim on Tuesday.

The chief minister said that Rs 45.26 crore has been directly credited on the day of the launch to over 2.24 lakh beneficiaries across the state, including newly registered beneficiaries, under the two schemes. He said that around Rs 543 crore are being spent by the government annually on these schemes.

Minister for Women and Child Development, Vishwajit Rane, and Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister said that these schemes continue to strengthen social security for families, women, senior citizens, widows and other vulnerable sections, reflecting the government’s commitment
to Antyodaya.

He requested beneficiaries of the two schemes to submit their income certificate and life certificate every year between April 1 and May 31 so that the pension money is transferred to their bank accounts without any hindrance.

Rane said that a camp was recently held in Ponda to ensure speedy and efficient coverage under the social security schemes.
