Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said the government is considering extending the ‘Anywhere Registration’ model, introduced for property registration, to the Transport Department, Deputy Collector offices and other government departments to improve citizen services.
He also said Goa has become the third state in the country to implement the Anywhere Registration System under the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS).
“The technology-driven initiative makes property registration more transparent, efficient and citizen-friendly by allowing documents to be registered at any office within a district,” said Sawant.
He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Anywhere Registration System’ in the city.
The NGDRS is a cloud-based, centralised software platform developed by the Government of India to standardise, digitise and simplify property and deed registration across states under the ‘One Nation, One Software’ initiative.
The initiative is expected to improve accessibility, streamline document registration, reduce travel and waiting time—particularly for senior citizens, NRIs and out-of-state visitors—and further strengthen digital governance and ease of doing business.
Sawant also said that although technology continues to evolve, human relationships remain unchanged. “This is the best time to evaluate and strengthen our relationships with other people,” he said.
The event was attended by Chief Secretary V Candavelou, Commissioner and Secretary (Revenue) Sandip Jacques, North Goa Collector Ankit Yadav, South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus, Kushavati District Collector Gurudas Desai and other dignitaries.
