Panaji: Goa Staff Selection Commission has introduced a significant reform by making Konkani a compulsory subject for its examination.
Prioritising sons of the soil, the move ensures a transparent and fair selection process.
By making Konkani compulsory, the Staff Selection Commission will give preference to Goan candidates. A crucial aspect of the examination will be the emphasis on promoting local talent.
A separate Konkani score will be calculated, which will be a critical factor in determining merit. The approach will ensure that the local candidates are given a fair opportunity to compete and succeed.
With regard to the Commission’s examination process, candidates receive their result immediately after completing their paper. A comprehensive list of the result is publicly available soon after the conclusion of the examination.
The recently conducted Lower Division Clerk (LDC) examination witnessed applications of approximately 22,000 candidates. The results were promptly uploaded on Goa Staff Selection Commission website immediately after the final day of the exam.
The Commission will now proceed to shortlist candidates based on a merit list, adhering to 1:5 ratio. For instance, if there are 10 available posts in a category, the top 50 candidates with the highest marks will be selected to advance to the next stage.
The subsequent stage will comprise a Computer-Based Recruitment Test (CBRT), designed to qualify candidates for the final skill test.
The computer-based selection process ensures transparency and eliminates the possibility of human bias, providing a fair and equal opportunity for talented individuals to join government administration.
