Panaji: Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Sunday said that the future of medicine lies in integration, collaboration, and mutual respect among different systems of healing.
He said that as medical science continues to evolve, there is a growing emphasis on evidence-based prac-
tices, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centred care. “In this evolving landscape, homoeopathy too is progressing,” said the Governor.
Stating that each system of medicine has its strength, philosophy, and contribution to make, he said, “When these systems work together in harmony, the greatest beneficiary is the patient,” said the Governor, during the 11th National Convention and Scientific Seminar – ‘Futuro De Cancer’.
The event was organised by the Indian Homoeopathic Medical Association (IHMA) Goa state chapter in association with the Goa Homoeopathic Council and Shri Kamaxidevi Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital.
“In such a time, homoeopathy stands as a gentle yet powerful reminder that healing is not merely about suppressing disease. It is about restoring balance—physical, emotional, and mental,” the Governor said.
He said that one of the most distinctive aspects of homoeopathy is its individualised approach to treatment.
“The future of medicine, I believe, does not lie in choosing one system over another. Rather, the future lies in integration, collaboration, and mutual respect among different systems of healing,” said the Governor.
He said that, for example, in areas such as cancer care, where patients often undergo physically and emotionally demanding treatments, supportive therapies can play a meaningful role.
“Homoeopathy is increasingly being explored as a supportive approach that may help patients cope with the challenges of treatment, strengthen resilience, and improve overall quality of life,” said the Governor.
On the theme of the seminar, ‘Futuro De Cancer’, he said that cancer remains one of the most serious health challenges faced by humanity and thataddressing it requires not only advanced medical science but also continued research, interdisciplinary dialogue, and compassionate care for patients and families.
“Scientific discussions such as the ones planned today on the role of homoeopathy in oncology and cardiology contribute to expanding understanding and exploring new possibilities for patient care,” said the Governor.
Also present were Kala Academy chairman Chandrakant Kavlekar, and deputy director (AYUSH) and nodal officer for the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) in Goa Dr Minal Joshi, Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, president of IHMA.
