Panaji: A portion of the false ceiling of the Western music classroom of the newly renovated Kala Academy complex collapsed on Saturday.

The incident fortunately did not result in any injury.

The Kala Academy officials have begun the structural assessment and safety inspection under the supervision of engineers and safety officials.

The premier art and culture centre of Goa was recently renovated at a cost of more than Rs 50 crore. Later, the government appointed a Task Force committee to evaluate the renovation work. Meanwhile, the Western music classes will be temporarily conducted at an alternate safe location in the complex so that the teaching process does not get hampered.
