Mapusa

In a hit-and-run case, a minor boy and his sister were seriously injured after a speeding rent-a-cab driver rammed into a two-wheeler in Parra on Monday. Both riders sustained serious injuries. The driver of the rent-a-cab fled the scene instead of providing medical assistance, abandoning the vehicle on the road near Mopa airport.

The injured, Nikita Chavan (21) and Narendra Chavan (13), are both residents of Revora. They are undergoing treatment at a hospital. Sources said that the accident occurred on Monday morning when the victims were proceeding towards Parra. Police said the victim was on her way to drop her minor brother to school before
proceeding to work.

With the help of the public, the injured were first rushed to the North District Hospital in Mapusa and later shifted to the Goa Medical College at Bambolim for further treatment.
