Health officer of Cacora community health centre (CHC) Megha Kudchadkar has directed the Sanvordem panchayat to take immediate steps to clear stagnant water accumulated in a
pit dug by a contractor for
a proposed bandhara

at Mirabag.

In a letter addressed to the panchayat secretary, the health officer said that a complaint was received from Upendra Naik of Falnem-Mugoli regarding water accumulation in a large pit dug and abandoned by a contractor near the riverside at Mirabag.

“There is a possibility of mosquito breeding in the stagnant water, which can lead to dangerous diseases such as malaria and dengue. The situation poses a serious threat to public health and the safety of nearby residents,” said the health officer.

The panchayat has been requested to take immediate necessary action to address the issue and inform the office accordingly.

The complaint letter stated that, following the complaint, the sanitary inspector of CHC inspected the site in the presence
of Ashwini Naik and local residents.
