In an effort to simplify and enhance citizens’ experience by providing transparent, efficient and faster access to the various digital services, the state government on Tuesday launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot (Beta version) on the Goa Online portal.

Developed by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, in collaboration with Goa Electronics Limited (GEL), the chatbot will serve as a single digital assistant offering round-the-clock (24×7) support to users.

The launch marks another step in Goa’s digital transformation journey. Following the Beta phase, the chatbot is expected to be extended across all government departments.

Launching the chatbot, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the initiative will help citizens by providing easy access to the online services. “The chatbot marks the next chapter in Goa’s digital journey. It strengthens transparency, enhances speed and is bringing government services closer to the citizens through a more responsive and personalised digital experience,” he said.

Present during the launch were IT Minister Rohan Khaunte, IT Director Kabir Shirgaonkar, Chief Executive Officer of GEL Revati Kumar and senior officials.

Speaking at the event, Khaunte said the chatbot launch was not merely a technological upgrade, but a deliberate move from policy to practice. “As the India AI Impact Summit 2026 drives national conversations around responsible and scalable AI adoption, Goa is already moving from discussion to implementation,” he said.
