A day after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s directives, the management of Tirumalla Tirupati Multistate Co-operative Credit Society Ltd submitted partial documents, with the remaining documents likely to be submitted on Friday.
The representatives of the credit society had met Sawant on Wednesday regarding the withdrawal of permission/No-Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Registrar of Co-operative Societies on February 3 for extending its operations and opening 13 branches in Goa.
The permission/NOC was withdrawn after the credit society failed to submit statutory documents to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies.
Following instructions from the Chief Minister to submit relevant documents immediately, sources in the office of the Registrar of Co-operative Societies said the management submitted partial documents on Thursday evening, with the remaining documents likely to be submitted on Friday.
An official said once all documents are submitted, the Registrar’s office will examine them and submit a report to the government.
Anxiety among investors of the credit society continues as no statement has been issued by the society’s office-bearers regarding the status of their deposits.
After the government’s action, depositors have been visiting branches across the state for enquiries.
