Vasco

In a tragic incident that occurred on Wednesday morning, a toddler, who was in Goa to celebrate the New Year with her parents, died in a freak accident in Vasco.

The child, aged two years and 10 months, came under her father’s two-wheeler when the family had stopped at a petrol pump to refuel.

According to Vasco police, Kalilulla Khan, a native of Tamil Nadu (TN), had hired a two-wheeler to go around places in Goa along with his family.

When he reached a petrol pump in Vasco, Khan asked his wife, 6-year-old son and daughter to get down from the vehicle. As he was dismounting from the two-wheeler, Khan accidentally forgot to place the vehicle on a stand and lost control of the two-wheeler. Police said the two-wheeler fell on the ground and Khan’s daughter came under it.

The toddler, who sustained head injuries, was rushed to the Chicalim sub district hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead. Post-mortem was conducted and the body handed over to the family for final rites. No foul play was suspected in the toddler’s death, said police, who registered a case under Section 194 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
