Congress on Tuesday alleged that the Mapusa Town and Country Planning (TCP) office has turned into a “dumpyard” filled with broken furniture and discarded materials.

“Various items dumped are even dumped on the pathway. The entrance to the washroom is blocked,” said Congress leader Amarnath Panjikar, adding that this is the “shocking state of government functioning”.

He demanded immediate action and a public apology to the people of Goa for subjecting them to such substandard and disrespectful conditions.

“It is an insult to the citizens who visit the office for essential public services. People are left with no choice but to fill forms and sit amidst the mess, compromising not only their comfort but also their dignity,” he said.

He questioned the TCP Minister: “Why is the department being run like a garbage warehouse instead of a planning office meant to serve the people? Where is the accountability?”

Panjikar added, “A department that plans the urban future of Goa is unable to manage its own workspace. The Minister must immediately intervene and ensure the TCP Office at Mapusa is cleaned, maintained, and made people-friendly.”
