The Goa government has mapped 6,810 CCTV cameras across 1,335 locations in North and South Goa under Project Netra, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the state assembly.

In response to a question raised by Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Sawant said that 239 locations have been identified in North Goa under 14 police station jurisdictions, with 949 CCTV cameras installed. In South Goa, 1,096 locations have been identified across 16 police stations, with 5,861 cameras mapped.

The reply stated that Project Netra involves only the mapping of CCTV cameras, with no expenditure incurred by the state government. While the mapping has been completed, there is no legal mandate requiring access to
CCTV footage.
