Panaji: Karimabad CC cruised to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Madel Yuvak Sangh in the GCA Division A North Zone clash at Panjim Gymkhana on Monday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Madel YS struggled to build momentum, getting bowled out for 113 in 27.3 overs. Pratik Naik top-scored with a gritty 45, while Shyam Parab (20) and Prathamesh Kuncolicor (10) made brief contributions.

Karimabad’s bowling unit proved lethal, with Pritesh Naik leading the charge with an impressive 3/2, while Saiesh Naik (2/7) and Siddharth Karpe (2/10) kept the pressure on.

In response, Karimabad made light work of the chase, reaching 114/2 in just 14.3 overs. Sapnish Satarkar led the way with a brisk 41, while Aaditya Kota (36*) and Siddharth Karpe (21*) ensured a smooth finish. Pratik Naik (1/29) and Prathamesh Kuncolicor (1/20) picked up a wicket each, but it wasn’t enough to trouble the in-form Karimabad lineup. For his stellar bowling display, Pritesh Naik was named Player of the Match as Karimabad CC continued their strong run in the tournament.

Colvale CC enter North Zone final

Chapora: Colvale CC secured their place in the final of the GCA Division C North Zone with a commanding five-wicket victory over Sodiem CC at Chapora.

After winning the toss and electing to field, Colvale’s bowlers backed up the decision with a disciplined effort, restricting Sodiem to 268 all out in 40 overs. Raj Dabholkar (68), Umesh Tate (64*), and Deepesh Pednekar (49) provided crucial runs, but Colvale’s Ashish Morajkar led the attack with a stellar 4/38, while Saunak Phadte chipped in with 2/60.

Chasing 269, Colvale CC paced their innings well, reaching the target in just 31.2 overs. Rajesh Narulkar set the tone with a fluent 83, while Utkarsh Desai (62*) and Dhruv Chodankar (35) ensured a smooth finish. Pratap Gaonkar (2/39) and Avinash Gaonkar (1/38) managed breakthroughs for Sodiem, but the target proved insufficient against Colvale’s batting firepower.

For his match-winning four-wicket haul, Ashish Morajkar was named Player of the Match, as Colvale CC advanced to the final in style.
