Lazy Boys etched their name in history, clinching the Goa Handball League 5.0 title in debut season. Organized by the Goa Handball Academy, the tournament featured six fiercely competitive teams, but it was Lazy Boys who emerged as the standout force, showcasing grit, resilience, and exceptional team spirit.
Led by their captain Shahim, the squad—comprised of promising young talents from across Goa. In their first group-stage match they defeated Flying Handballers 17-16. Gourav Singh was named the Man of the Match.
In their second match, they fell short 14-17 to Flying Handballers. However, they bounced back, dismantling Zealous Lions 26-19. Despite a narrow defeat to Zealous Lions in their final group game, Lazy Boys secured a semi-final berth, finishing second in the standings.
In the semi-final, they defeated Friends Handballers 25-13.
The championship decider saw a thrilling rematch with Flying Handballers, culminating in a 22-21 victory.
The squad featured Shahim, Valerius Fernandes, Gourav Lakhan Singh, Shreyas Morudkar, Dattaprasad Pednekar, Nathan D’Souza, Samesh Naik, Valens Fernandes, John D’Souza, Amit Naik, Aliston D’Souza and Sohail Makari thrived under the guidance of a seasoned coaching staff, Elroy Pinto, Shailesh Chodankar, Savio Fernandes, Michael Dias, and Siddhesh Kesarkar.
